Thank you for supporting my blog If there’s one subject that causes the most stress for homeschoolers (and honestly, for kids in general), it’s math. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard other parents say things like, “Math always ends in tears at our table” or “I dread teaching fractions.” And you know what? I’ve been there too. The Best Social-Emotional Learning Books for Every Age Group + Free SEL Checklist

Build emotional intelligence through stories your kids will actually enjoy!

As a homeschooling mom, one of my favorite ways to teach social-emotional learning (SEL) is through books. Stories have a way of gently guiding kids (and even teens!) to explore emotions, navigate challenges, and understand others—without it feeling like a lesson. The right book can spark meaningful conversations and give our kids tools for life.

Over the years, I’ve collected and read tons of SEL books with my kids—from sweet picture books about friendship to powerful young adult novels that explore identity, loss, and resilience. Today, I’m sharing some of our absolute favorites—organized by age—so you can build your own SEL library at home.

And because I know how busy life gets, I also created a FREE printable SEL Book Checklist that you can use to track what you’ve read, take notes, or plan your next trip to the library (or Amazon 😉).

You can grab that printable at the end of this post!
